We
teach in our working recording studio! It is important for us to introduce
technology early to our students! This is where the FUN is!! Our
biggest pet peeve is children practicing to a metronome with the fear of their
teacher standing over them with a ruler ready to 'smack their wrists' for
improper hand position! (My first teacher, may she rest in peace!)
How
about having the student jam to MIDI backing tracks or an audio CD jointly
created by them and their teacher? How about a samba drum beat or a
shuffle instead of a metronome?
